If you have suffered from defamation of character online, and have search results that you want to remove from Google, there is a process here:
If you proceed though a defamation lawsuit, either through settlement or trial, and come out with a Court Order indicating that the post is defamatory and must be removed. Then, you can submit the Court Order to Google to remove the post from the search results.
If you have been defamed but have not gone through courts, we can help by getting content removed on other grounds that do not require a legal document. We can also suppress, bury and replace negative content that Google will not remove or de-index.
It all depends what the content is. We can delete and remove a wide range of search results and all of them have different strategies.
Remove outdated content from Google search results.
As of March 2020 according to Google Support published guidance, it may take as long as 90 days for Google to de-index content. When it relates to client mandates, we proactively submit outdated content or links for the outdated content removal , that have been removed to Google Search Console.
A DMCA takedown notice is basically a formal request made to the person or entity who has — whether purposely or mistakenly — taken your content without your permission, asking that they take it down. If they comply with your DMCA notice, you’re all done
There’s one other option, which is Google’s Legal Removal Request system. Google will remove content from their web search results and other related Google services, if and only if the content is found to be violating the law as published and you have a valid court order to have it removed from the search engines
In my experience it can take as little as a week or as long as a few months depending on how quickly Google indexes the updated page content.
about 90 days
If the information still exists on the web
Temporarily hide information from Google Search by filing a URL removal request. This takes effect in about a day, but it is only temporary (after about 90 days it will reappear in search results).
